Andre previn owns a whole miniature orchestra that he keeps in his pocket
He’s got the minature violinist, minature cellist, minature conductor and the star of his minature orchestra is his 12 inch pianist….

@jkarani How on earth is that possible? You ask the british public what the greatest comedy sketch is & it’ll be this, fork handles or dead parrot without fail

@jkarani LB was good the first 2 series… but thats when it should’ve been left. To me, the only funny thing about LB now is Tom Baker’s announcements.

This sketch was originally done in the Sixties – but without a famous conductor. In the Seventies revival, Previn MADE it. (Pity the last bit is missing – where Previn played it like Eric).

Eric and Ernie are greater than the sum of their parts, but that doesn’t mean Ernie’s genius equals Eric’s, it doesn’t.

0.45 “You’ve chosen all the right sketches although not necessarily in the right order.” Right. This is Eric n’ Ern’s best guest-sketch and only the “Breakfast Sketch” is up with it in their repertoire. Why the eventual winner – a middle-aged dancing newsreader’s legs – is supposed to be funnier and stand the test of time better than this, I cannot understand. I saw these first night of broadcast (Xmas 1971, 1976). PS – Glenda “beauty what like I have got” Jackson – Xmas 72 – is easily #2 IMO.

@TVloverXx I remember the show – number 1 was a Little Britain sketch. Who voted in this poll – Heat readers?
