La Flor De Cano Petite Corona Cigar Review

La Flor de Cano Petite Corona Cigar Review This 4.75×39 cigar from Cuba features a cedar sleeve, under which is a mottled dark brown wrapper with small and medium veins, tight seams, a nice double cap, even spongy give with lumps and minor imperfections with a rich chocolate and hay aroma. First light reveals unfortunately an almost unsmokeably tight draw, with what feels like a solid knot 1/2 way down the stick. Flavors are just a faint tobacco and a tiny amount of smoke. The first third isn’t much different, giving a mild body flavor of a silky smooth creamy textures sweet tobacco with minimal smoke and a short clean finish. 20 minutes in the draw opens up just a touch, doubling smoke output. Flavors go to a medium body of a smooth sweet leather with an oily pepper and spice finish, which is still short and clean. Draw is still very tight. 30 minutes in starting the last third, smoke output is now excellent with tons of rich medium-full body smoke with the same flavors but a lot more oil and cayenne spics through the finish leaving the lips very hot and tingly. Ending at 45 min where it got too hot for my taste there were no further changes. Thank you very much you YouTube viewer Nokomisclub for generously sending this in for review! Sorry you had that problem! I have had the same problem with many of the Cubans I have smoked. Kind of makes me think of a diva NFL receiver: all the potential, but often disappointing. Oh well, maybe Raul Castro is watching….

@cigarobsession Haha, I wondered about that post. Do they make a non-Cuban variant? It seems like there is a lot of Hype surrounding Cubans, simply because to some people (Not saying with you) they imply you’ve “got connections.” My friend’s dad goes to China on business regularly and stays in very high end hotels, where he’s often provided with genuine Cuban cigars. He says that they’re nothing special and he prefers many non-Cubans to the real thing. You seem to echo these sentiments.

@mindsmirror I agree with your Dad. Cubans are what non US countries get. Everything else is almost exclusive to the US and I believe far better overall.

I’ve never had a bad draw with cuban cigars of late. After 2008 production is spot on in terms of quality control.
